I am starting to look for a replacement blade for next winter. Currently I am running a 7 1/2 foot Curtis blade with pro-wings on a JD 325 skid equipped with Wolf Paw tires and a two speed. My problem is that the blade is just not holding up. The steep portion of the driveway rises 100 feet in elevation over a length of 1200 feet. The New Hampshire location receives 70 to 125 inches of snow a year with occasional concerns of ice. I am considering a plow truck or skid steer or midsize tractor to plow the bulk of the steep portion of the driveway and possibly a snow blower and/or ATV . 2457 posts

Brian, If you're looking to capitalize on your time and you have several HOA contracts, I can tell you that having a box plow equipped with a pull back kit on a tired skid steer is the way to go. Walk behind snow blowers are cleaner and throws the snow but this is a slow process. Torrey.

A bit off topic to your question above BUT: we added factory wings to a fisher 8.5 HD2 before last season so our backup plow was more than a lawn ornament. Factory fisher wings were about 1800 then. Plow is now 10’4” scoop with steel trips on the wings. Haven’t used a ton-it’s a backup. Everyone who has used it loves it. Really all the plow needs from the truck is inputs. 12v and control circuits. The problem may be the amps required from the alternator/battery of the SS. If you dont want to make it ever go on a truck again i would remove the pump and connect it to the SS hydraulics. Just connect the valve body input to the output on the SS. BMWSTUD25. 675 posts
The 773 will have no problem pushing a 8' skid steer. A 10' backhoe model is a whole lot heavier and sticks out futher sinces your are mounting it to the bucket not the skid plate. Which is reducing the skid loaders lifting capacity. 2008 Bobcat A300 with 8' plow & Westside Tire 22.5 snow tires . 48 STATES ON THIS SKID STEER SNOW .
