They aren't too bad of a machine to work on. There was a shop i drove past in Lena, illinois that was filled with old OMC skid steers. Kubota BX2380/LA344 loader/60" MMM, Bobcat S185 skid steer, JD X394 4 wheel steer mower SS, don't ever leave TBN. I'll have my Bobcat S185 soon and you're a skidsteer guru! :thumbsup:

It's powered by a Duetz 2 cylinder air-cooled diesel engine and was running fine except it was using A LOT OF OIL. If I ran it 3 or 4 hours, I'd have to stop and put a gallon of oil in it.

I have recently bought a 40 plus year old hydrostatic skid steer for projects around 8 acres of property. Its rough to look at but is functional. Parts are non existent, but major components are still available. Im just trying to learn enough . Some info here that may help in finding information & parts. OMC (Owatonna Manufacturing Co.) built skid-loaders for a number of years for john Deere. If your 440 has 2 steering levers (left & right) then it is clutch controlled with variable speed belt driven, exactly the same as a JD24.
Gehl/Mustang: 7810, 7610 and 2199, 2099 (respectively for Gehl and then Mustang; two models per company) are vertical; everything else they make is radial. umm. I don't know if I've missed anything. Oh. JCB is all radial. And there are a few smaller companies (ASV, Takeuchi) that are still making only radial machines.

I am making a quick attach for my FEL on my tractor and was wondering if anyone new the specs on it. I put the pins on 33 inch centers and I came up with 40 degrees for the bottom bend where the pin goes through and 45 degrees for the angle at the top of the quick attach.
