If you are experiencing problems with your auxiliary hydraulics and or can't change control patters I'd suggest you call your Case dealer, give them your serial number and have them check to see if you have joysticks that can be replaced at no cost. I have a case 1835b that I purchased this fall I knew it needed work, but now I'm at a stand still. Before I did anything to it, it had a bad leak, but I couldn't track it down. I have since replaced almost every hose underneath and replaced both drive motors and filters. Have a case 430 that has a hydraulic issue on the left side. drive wheels on the left are getting weaker / slower. It's not that noticeable yet on start up when oil is cold but when things heat up it gets worse. 1840's are blessed with a simple hydraulic system. If the controls are working correctly & no hydraulics are functioning, can only mean the equipment pump is not delivering oil. Pull it out & take a look.
I can pull the over ride lever to unlock the loader spool & arms will lift , but all other hydraulic controls are locked. Engine runs fine, the only thing different now is that there is a red park brake light on all the time on LH panel. 2. Hydraulic Problem. Hydraulic powers the skid steer arms. This means that Case 1840 hydraulics generate the necessary pressure to lift a load. However, loss of power in the arms is a common issue for every utility tractor. If your Case 1840 fails to lift a load efficiently, be sure there is something wrong with the hydraulics. I have a Case 95XT skid loader, getting high on hours, 8500 or so, otherwise in pretty good shape. This past year the hydraulics have gotten pretty slow on the lift and tilt, maybe 12-15 seconds to lift all the way up and there seems to be some jerkiness when lifting as if there is some air or something in the hydraulic lines. I have a case 1840 Skid Steer Uni-loader and I think something is wrong with the hydraulics. I have an auger and a stump grinder for it. When using the auger I can dig a hole but it takes a while to do it.
