Hello, looking at a 1845c case skidsteer locally and it has a drive motor issue. . You either have a valve issue or a brake issue. The forward and reverse works . In this case, the skid steer lost drive after shutting down, with the problem . My son has a Case 1845C skid steer. I need to tighten/adjust the drive chains. .

I've got an 1845c that has also had some start issues. Most of the time it would start, but occasionally I'd just get a click. It got worse over time. A couple things I did. 1. Replaced the solenoid plunger and contacts on the start. I've heard this is sometimes a cause. It didn't solve my start issue, but it's worth a check. 2. The damage that occours will be almost instantaneous as the contaminant is trapped in the closed loop and just keeps circulating and the results will be an immediate loss of power, the right way to repair it would be to have all components in that loop disassembled and cleaned including all hoses. #3. The obvious thing that comes to mind is that there is some water that froze up somewhere in the LH motor or chaincase.

There are 4 hoses to the drive motors under there and possibly aux hydraulic hoses if equipped. There is also a chance that the oil is coming from between the drive motors and the chain case or coming from the park pins.
