A good friend of ours found his Bobcat too tight behind the bar... he cut the center out near the sides and remodeled some what to fit himself. Take a look at the schematic for the seat bar. It should answer all of your questions, just make sure to take a look at all of the bolts. Also, you should have a springs that need to be compressed. Are these Bobcat Lap Bars adjustable? Too provide more room under the bar? Say if the operator was on the heavy side and needed more room, still allowing.
