So, I ordered a set of the McLaren rubber tracks. I need to be on pavement and concrete driveways. Hope they are worth it. Thanks for the input. Considered the Camso rubber OTT tracks as well, but was told by their dealer I would also have to change my tires from 12-16.5 to 10-16.5 for clearance reasons. No explanation why. Greg
The OTT tracks will add a little flotation advantage, but as Ron noted, it won't be as significant as a CTL/MTL. I've seen guys take tracks off in 30 minutes, some take about an hour, depends on how quick you are and the brand of tracks as I know some are easier to remove than others. They squeak, but not very much. If you gave me a set of them redneck logchain tracks I wouldn't use them. I'd have them tore up in no time. I've got a set of Loegering tracks on my bobcat, actually same set I've had on last two bobcats (12 years old maybe older) never had a single problem with them. If I was looking to buy I'd look at Loegering, Grouser, and McLaren.
I have to install a raised filter bed septic system for my new home. I have access to a 2wd backhoe, mini ex, and a bobcat S150 skid steer. Would it be worth while to invest in a set of over tire tracks for the skid steer or will I need an actual tracked machine to get the job done.

I will admit a track machine would be nice but the cost of operating one is not worth it to me. I can take the tracks on or off in about 30 minutes. I really on need them when its wet out. The drive sprocket attaches to the rear axles only, so all the torque, or power supplied to the rubber track is supplied by only one of the two skid steer axles. Loegering tracks held up the best, and were the easiest to install, but we had to use wheel spacers, and OTT tracks caused tons of premature drive chain failures. With tracks and wheel spacers on these 1845C's, the increased width was enough that they wouldn't fit between the fenders on some of our trailers. Seriously, I never had a problem with maintenance issues running steel OTT's. The last skid I ran OTT's on was a 2000 863 I bought new. Traded her with 2.5k hours on the meter in 2007 for a new S250. All of those 2.5K hours weren't running OTT's but I would say 600-800 hours of the 2.5K were running OTT's, mostly in winter.
