Over the tire tracks are such a hassle. I had them on an LS170 i was using. The paddles that keep them on the tires kept popping the tires off the rims and then taking the tracks on/off was a 45 minute project each time. The rubber pads are held on by two 1 and a half inch bolt which isnt sturdy whatsoever. They would always fall off. I'd go tracks for any grading, you get a lot more area on the ground to keep ya stable. I don't even rent the wheeled ones anymore. Traction limited, bouncy, tougher to grade with. The over the tire tracks are interesting but you still have potentially flats to deal with, and the wheelbase remains about the same.
I have used a Cat 236B skid steer that had over the tires track for over 2000 Hrs and the chains were still good. Of course the oils were changed on schedule and the tracks not kept too tight. The VTS system applies more even weight distribution.
